The waiting…

Hola!!

Here I am again just when I figured out that I still did not tell you what BJD I chose! So a few days later than I wrote my last post, I made my order to Fairyland. Probably you are not going to guess which doll is it because it is not between the pictures I uploaded 😛 But worry not, I will not let you hanging…

The lucky one was Pukifee Flora that (hopefully) will be arriving home by mid November, fingers crossed ^^ As I still don’t have my doll I will illustrate this post with some pictures taken from Flickr 😉 Click on the images to visit their Flickr pages:

And the title of the post comes from this: I read somewhere that for some people the waiting was the best part. Well, I can tell you that for me it isn’t xD I’m so umpatient!! I want her here so I can start sewing for her! 😛 Fortunately I have many other things that entertain me in the meantime, as for example the new Pokemon game 😀

Once she arrives I will start making dresses for her and in some time I will be having them for sell at my store. Talking about my store, there will be some surprises for you soon so keep an eye on the blog for more updates 😀

Dolls : I fell in love with them ^^

Hola amigos!

The fabrics I ordered still haven´t arrived, so I could´t sew anything new this past week =( I was a bit dissapointed because they were supposed to arrive more than a week ago. 5 days ago they contacted me saying that some of the items were out of stock, thus the shipping still wasn´t completed >.< I contacted them straight away and am now expecting my order for monday (as per the information they gave me)

I will use this post then to talk about lovely dolls I recently discovered. They are BJD, and although most of them are all beautiful and very detailed I deeply fell in love with two of them: Lati Yellow and Pukifee from Fairyland. They are just so adorable!! Here are some pictures of my current favourites:

And I repeat: I looove them. I stare at them and start to melt. The size, the shape or their bodies, the faces… they look so childish and are so cute! I can spend hours looking at their pictures in Google, their owners really know how to make them look charming.

I like the Pukifee Pong Pong because it is SO smiley and happy, opposite to the majority of dolls that have sad or melancholic faces. I understand that kind of expressions are so tender but after some time I would be so frustrated because I can not make my doll happy… That’s the main reason why I excluded other dolls from my list. My mini Ddungs are very cute but looks like they are never satisfied. On the other hand, Lati Lami has also caught my eye: if I decide going for the Lati it will probably be this one.

But there is one inconvenient I find here: the money. BJD tend to be quite expensive, and normally the price does not even include wigs or make up, what means you will have to pay an extra fee. At least, clothes wouldn’t be a problem for me since I would make her all kind of outfits =P I considered buying the specific paints and try to do the face up myself, but maybe it is a bit risky… What will you do?

Definitely, I know I will end buying one =P It´s being so difficult to make a decission! Both Pukifee and Lati have very sweet expressions, I have also read reviews about them and they both have some pros and cons… For example, I like the fact that Pukifee has a articulated body, but Lati has a very cute bottom. Also, I like more the way Lati’s head is attached to the body, but Pukifee has magnets for different accesories, on the top of Pukifee’s legs you don’t see the strings… I still need to work on my decission =P

Apart from that, I still don´t know if it would be a brand new, or maybe a second hand (I am not really aware of second hand market in this field, but everytime I visit the Lati Yellow webpage, they all appear as sold and second hand is the only option I see available =( )

So if you know any good second hand market or have any recommendation, please tell me!

And please help  make up my mind! If you own or have seen any of the dolls mentioned above, I hope to read your comments. I know some people would say: go for both!!, but that is not really an option right now.

Also, I would like to know what are your favourites, so don’t hesitate to share them with me =D

Welcome to my store!

Hi everybody!

The store is finally open!! =D It took me some time to get it ready, but I’m really enjoying it. From now on, you can find the link to my store on the right side of this post

The store is called ‘Hanako’s Closet’, I named it after my first mini Ddung. (Note to my other dolls: I love you all, don’t be jealous =P). Everything in my store is handmade and hand-stitched with care and love. Why do I say that? Normally people would say: make it with the same care and passion as if it were for yourself, but I go beyond. If I am sewing a dress for my doll and something goes wrong (maybe I will show you some of this stuff soon 😉 ), I try to amend it in the best possible way and then my doll will wear it, with no problem. But if I am sewing something for you and a little thing goes wrong, I will not send it to you, I will start again and make a new one. Because I want it to be perfect.

Also, as all is made by hand, could be that not all stitches are equal in size and could also look a bit messy in the inside part, although I try it to be as neat as possible ^^ (I will also show you some pics if you want), but that’s the charm about handmade stuff, what gives you the feeling that someone has been working on it, what makes them unique =)

At the moment there are only a few outfits, but lots of beautiful fabrics are on the way (or should be =P). I have also designed several new dresses and am really impatient about putting my hands on this. Hot news!

Hey all! So here I am with more news ^^

If you have a look at this page, you will find new stuff.

In a first place, I have finally completes the “Doll measurements” section. Currently there are also the measures for mini Ddung (as it is the only doll I have right now). If you are interested, I could add the measures for the mini Bratz Baby as well. Also, it would be great if you send me the measures of your dolls, as I’m sure it would help some people (myself I’m very curious about the sizes, as I’ve never had other of these dolls in my hands)

In a second place, I’ve also fallen in the Pinterest fever. I only started it some days ago, but I’m starting to like it a lot, you can really find amazing stuff =)

By chance, I found there La Ratita Tejedora and liked all her boards, I inmediately started following her. She has patterns for several dolls and collected a lot of dollies lovely ideas. I recommend you to visit her =) Oh! you can also find the link to my Pinterest on the right bar. I will update it with new designs! =D

What more? Oh! Since I’m opening a store I considered convenient to link to it from this blog. You can find the link in the right bar too. Remember the opening is tomorrow! And in relation to this matter, last week I ordered quite a lot of new fabrics to myfabrics.co.uk and I still haven’t received them… I placed the order almost two wees ago so I guess they should be home soon… I hope they don’t delay any more as I can not wait to start sewing my new designs! =P

Safe and sound!

Hi again all of you! =D After a few months I’m back again!

First of all, sorry for dissapearing like that. I got an overload of things to do between the university and work, that made impossible for me to even sew a single dress for my dolls =( So yes, since February my little dolls have been abandoned and I haven’t touched a needle!

So, as an update, by the end of July I finished my degree in Spain =D and a few days later I came back to Ireland were my girls were waiting for me. I resumed sewing soon with a lot of ideas I left pending. Cool!

And here is another update: from now on you will be able to find my outfits on my online store ^^ I’ve been working on it these past days, I have also created some new outfits and I have already ordered lots of new fabrics to go on sewing! =D At the moment

The opening will be next Saturday, August 24th, don’t miss it! 😉 I hope you like it and hope to hear your comments! =)

And that’s all for today. I still have much to do regarding the online store so I must go back to work. More news soon!

 

Yôko, the new baby

We already have a name for her! =D In this case I asked my sister for a name so this was a way to thank her for this doll, but she had no idea of what the name could be. So I showed her my list (because I have a list of names I like =P ) and let her choose.

At first, my sister didn’t want to give her a Japanese name, but as soon as I explained her the meaning, she changed her mind ^^ After a while, we decided (and this time we were my sister, my mother and me) that this new baby will be called Yôko.

Why Yôko? Yôko means “Ocean child”. The girl was born in this city by the sea. When you grow up by the sea you have some kind of relation with it (or at least that is what I feel) and now that I’m living abroad I miss it. I love the sea and this way this doll will also have the essence of it =)

So this is all for today. The weather is sunny and bright outside and it’s time for me to go out ^^

A ‘lil’ surprise

Last week I arrived to Spain!

After a trip longer than usual and a nice lunch in Málaga I arrived to my house and my sister had a present for me =) A small Bratz lil Angel! ^^ She is a cute baby doll.

She came in a box with two pets and totally covered with a blanket. The colour of the hair was hidden by a hoodie and the eyes were closed as if she was asleep. In order to make her ‘open’ her eyes, it was necessary to rub them with a towel and warm water. Once the eyes are open it is not possible to make her ‘sleep’ again. The size is similar to Ddung dolls.

The pets were also hidden with a blanket. After removing the cloth, I could see a nice cat and ladybird =)

I still haven’t decided a name for her, I have some names but still don’t know which one will be the best for her ^^ Will update soon! =D

And so the family keeps growing…very fast! I will need to stop it or transport will become very difficult…

Introducing Sylvanian families

The other day I went to a shopping center and saw them. I already knew them, bacause I saw them in many Flickr pages and some other shops, but never bought any because they are a bit expensive… BUT in this shopping center all the toys were in special offer so… They came home =P

My two baby mice still have no name and I am not sure if I will call him somehow, but they did have time for playing with Hanako, Natsuki, Fuyumi and Luke =)

I will have to stop looking at this picture because such cute dolls plus such cute pets is too much cuteness!

Now having some fun with the baby mice ^^

And talking a bit about everything, in the following days I would like to resume the sewing days and have some new outfits for the girls. Luke will have to wait because I don’t feel like making some trousers at the moment =P More dresses soon!

How to look like Agnes, from Despicable me

Hi again!

I made this one in Christmas but I haven’t had the time to post it yet.

At Christmas I saw the movie ‘Despicable me’ (Gru mi villano favorito, for my Spanish readers) again and love this character. I already knew how to make the overalls so I just needed to add a T-shirt and I will have the a mini Agnes for me =P

The patterns for the overalls are in this post so this time I just need to add a T-shirt.

All the pictures were taken in my house in Spain, hence the bunch of pictures with different plushies! ^^ Enjoy!

Say Hello to…

This is my new boy, also a present from my boyfriend ^^ I called him Luke in honor of Luke from Proffesor Layton. I love those games and when I saw him I thought he look very similar. Maybe they don’t, but that is how I see it through my eyes… =)

This is the raincoat mini Ddung. He was supposed to have reddish hair, but in the end he has the same hair colour as Hanako. When I asked the seller about that, he replied that “Ddung factory may change hair colour without previous notice”. So well… the truth is that I chose him because of his reddish hair but I will love him the same =D

And once I removed his hoodie… look at his hair! So long and so bad, poor boy! So I just took my scissors and made him look much prettier =P
